Kansas Green Grass Beef

Our goal: to raise the most healthful, nutritious grass fed beef

Kansas Green Grass Beef is a small boutique operation in North Central Kansas with the single goal of raising grass fed beef that delivers the benefits of being superlatively nutritious and tastes like beef used to taste. It all starts with healthy soil which grows healthy rich grass which feeds very healthy animals. There have been no pesticides, fertilizers, insecticides, weed sprays or other manufactured "enhancers" on our land for forty years.

We never crowd the animals and the land is never overgrazed. Our grass fed beef animals have very natural, low stress lives. They grow at their own rate on good grass, without hormones, without vaccines, without antibiotics, without chemical additives, without stress, and most of all without any type of grain with all the problems and results it entails.

Our grass fed beef is raised using standards higher than the official "Organic" ratings. The "Organic" rating allows grain feeding as long as the grain is certified as "Organic". Even organic grain defeats the truly healthy animal. The animals that produced these "Organic" products may be fed less grain than the industry norm, but they are often grain finished. Organic or not, feeding large amounts of grain to a ruminant animal compromises the health of the animal and the nutritional value of the resulting meat and dairy products.

Green Pasture

About the Grass

Kansas Green Grass Beef provides lush green grass for the longest grazing period by providing fourteen different varieties of grass. The variation insures that there is extended season pasturage and eliminates grazing in the same place. The cattle graze an area in its prime and then move on. When given this choice, cattle graze on grasses that are in the peak of protein and mineral content. KGGB grass fed beef spend their entire lives grazing grass pastures – a naturally-renewable resource.

green grass natural diet

  • It keeps the overall bacteria count low.
  • It prevents the bacteria from becoming acid resistant.
  • Acid-resistant bacteria are far more likely to survive the acidity of our normal digestive juices and cause disease.
(Note: Grass fed beef animals have so few acid-resistant bacteria that the number fails to register.

Because of our attention to several types of grasses creating an extended grazing season, our cattle have steady, healthy weight gain from birth to market. At harvest, our animals weigh 200-300 lbs more than typical grass fed beef. We never grain-feed to add a quick weight gain for market. In the end, it's just impossible to purchase a more natural product than we raise.
